Description

A high-profile and well-respected not-for-profit organisation based in New York seeks a Vice President, Content and Programming to work closely with the executive leadership team on all aspects of event programming, thought leadership and sponsorship. 

 

The Vice President, Content and Programming will lead the development of major conference programming, panel origination and content preparation for all nine of the organisation’s US and global conferences. 

 

The successful candidate will have a strong background (ideally 8+ years) in content development, programming, and event execution. They will possess a strong knowledge of financial markets and the allocator universe in the investment management space. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills and established relationships in the fund manager and investor space and a solid understanding of how to engage the industry’s key constituencies.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Build sponsorship of major conferences with an eye toward integrating content and sponsorship where applicable. Seek out global and multi-event partnerships to increase revenue for the organization.  
  • Build and manage development of advisory boards for the organization’s six major conferences in the U.S. and EU; work to ensure diversity in board composition as well as strong contributions from all members. 
  • Conduct and oversee speaker recruitment and develop relevant, high impact and innovative program content and relevant research. 
  • Oversee audience development for each conference. 

 

Experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of programming, sales, marketing and/ or communications experience, preferably within the financial services or private sector.  
  • Experience developing and executing programming for events focused on the financial services space and a solid understanding of the allocator and fund manager universe.  
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest communication channels and trends (social media, interactive portals, etc.) and tactics for effective use of each. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in finance, journalism or a related discipline is desirable.
