Our client, a dynamic events business backed by a large investment fund, is looking for a Financial Controller, who is a qualified accountant, with extensive experience, to work as part of this growing business. You will oversee growth development and manage reporting to a high quality level and be part of the team that builds the business, supporting its needs. You will need maturity and be able to grow and build the best infrastructure alongside the companies' natural growth.
Responsibilities:
· Management of the financial reporting and control of the business and supporting the day-to-day
finance requirements of individual teams with their P&L responsibility
· Managing the planning & preparation of all annual subsidiary statutory accounts to agreed
deadlines.
· Ownership of the preparation of the Group financial statements, ensuring that documents are
reviewed by Senior Stakeholders and feedback is incorporated and tracked.
· Management of the external audit process, planning and timing of statutory accounts audit work
and managing the interaction with the delivery of statutory reporting.
· Delivery of the month end reporting, group consolidation and cashflow reporting, providing high
level concise commentary and analysis of results.
· Preparation of the monthly board report, including co-ordination of senior contributors and
ensuring feedback is incorporated and tracked.
· Providing support to the portfolio teams during the budget and forecasting process.
· Responsible for the review of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
· Ensuring that the organisation meets the necessary tax, permit and licencing requirements
· Collaborating with the executive team in establishing more effective processes and controls to
ensure the integrity of a company’s ledger
· Providing executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide
effective policy making and financial strategy
· Summarising budget trends, analysing deficiencies and reporting variances to executives
· Overseeing tax matters and liaising with external tax accountants for tax preparation
- Qualifications
- Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
· Qualified Accountant.
· Around 10 years PQE in corporate roles
· Experience managing across a group, including preparing consolidations and cashflows.
· Strong IFRS and FRS102 knowledge.
· Resilient and able to meet targets in a pressured environment.
· Previous experience of managing a financial reporting team.
· Experience of working and reporting into board members.
· Producing accurate information first time
· Capability to work in a fast paced/fast changing business
· Ability to work independently in an effective manner
· Excellent time management skills
Preferred:
· Knowledge of the media sector
· Experience of working within a listed or PE backed environment
· Knowledge of Sage and other accounting and reporting packages
