The Event Marketing Manager is responsible for designing and implementing the marketing strategy and plans. The role’s key priorities are to deliver ticket volume and revenue across all events, as well as exhibitor lead generation. The role has ownership of the entire visitor customer journey from initial engagement and ticketing processes as well as ensuring a smooth on-site entry experience.
Working with channel marketing experts, the Event Marketing Manager will develop and optimise marketing channels in the delivery of ticket sales and exhibitor lead generation. As the caretaker of the event brands, you will own all research and marketing collateral, ensuring excellence in design and copy and ensuring adherence across all marketing functions.
The Event Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivery of both revenue and volume targets for ticket sales and exhibitor lead generation. This role reports into the Marketing Director with a dotted line into the Events Director.
Role Responsibilities:
- Scope and develop ticket sales growth plans, optimising channel development and expenditure.
- Develop plans to grow ticket sales profitability and ROI
- Work with Event Sales team develop and own Exhibitor lead generation strategy
- Oversee all marketing communications
- Identify, develop and test target markets and drive ticket sales
- Develop targets and deliver across volumes, revenues & contribution
- Drive best practice usage of above and below the line marketing channels
- Influence ticket sales strategy across events, both UK and Internationally
- With Event sales team, develop and deliver exhibitor lead generation strategy
Candidate skills & experience required:
- Demonstrate experience where you have successfully guided projects in the above areas (Role Responsibilities) and presented event marketing based insight from data, research and observation
- Experience of marketing to and writing engaging copy for event conversion, in both online and offline channels
- Proven experience in managing digital and CRM functions in event environment, with a clear ability to articulate outputs and metrics
- Very strong CRM marketing experience, specifically in segmentation and targeting
- Very strong digital marketing experience, specifically in funnel optimisation and onsite conversion and testing
- Demonstrate creativity through innovative marketing campaigns
- Naturally intuitive, a creative problem solver, questions the norm
- Confident in data analysis and the associated tools to manipulate and present to stakeholders
- A hands-on approach with a passion for testing; naturally results-driven
- Good communication skills
- Ability to foster and maintain stakeholder relationships across all levels
- Positive, energetic, can-do attitude. Problem solver
- Able to work effectively to tight deadlines and stay calm under pressure
- Attention to detail is vital
- Exceptionally organised
- Works well on own initiative but also a strong team player
- Consumer event experience is essential
- Experience of Exact Target and HTML an advantage
- Experience of Google Analytics an advantage
- Graduate with 2:1 and good A Levels, ideally English, Maths, Science
