- Description
First and foremost, the Marketing Manager is a dedicated marketing generalist for one or more of our events. You’ll be involved in all aspects of exhibition marketing across the event, including preparation of the marketing plan, briefing in creative, managing 3rd party suppliers, analysing and segmenting data, writing copy and managing email and direct marketing campaigns.
You’ll also liaise with exhibitors, sponsors and supporters looking for a way to extend the marketing value proposal through digital media platforms.
Reporting to their functional head – the Marketing Director and their operational head – the Event Director.
The role – what you’ll do:
- Researching, planning, writing and implementing of the exhibition marketing plans
- Managing the visitor acquisition campaign of exhibitions from start to finish
- Database analysis, segmentation and management
- Work with creative team to produce key marketing materials in print, digital and video
- Manage commercial social media accounts including Twitter and LinkedIn
- Research competitors and understand the energy events market trends
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure event collateral is produced and delivered on time
- Working with the production team to obtain speaker bio’s, photos, corporate logos etc for web and print materials
- Create commercially driven marketing copy that sells
- Managing exhibitor marketing opportunities
- Managing the registration team pre-show and onsite
- Assisting the event team onsite with the set-up, registration and breakdown of the events
- Collating the post-exhibition report
- Champion the marketing discipline and coach/mentor the more junior members of the marketing department
The candidate – what you’ll need:
Technical:
- You must have a marketing qualification and at least four years’ experience in a marketing role
- Experience in the use of databases (CRM) in both mass and targeted direct marketing campaigns
- Budget management, including budgetary responsibility for decision making relating to a wide variety of potential marketing channels
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including: MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to all levels both within and outside the organisation
- Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience using an email service supplier (ESP) including setting up HTML & plain text emails
