A creative event organiser in the UK, seeks a New Business Development Director - Sponsorship to join a genuine and hardworking team who take pride in what they do and enjoy working alongside new and regular clients across the Esports tournaments, gaming and events industry.
Role Overview
Lead and drive all sponsorship revenues in the company.
Sponsorship management - driving best practice and forming creative experiential packages to take to market.
Meeting an individual sponsorship sales target to ensure revenue growth.
Overseeing the delivery of the commercial revenue targets, raising flags and providing solutions as necessary throughout the year.Key Responsibilities
Work with the Directors to create overall company and individual show strategies for sponsorship.
Responsible for research, sponsorship database creation, new business, account management and delivery of sponsorships.
Prospect for new business using direct approach to brand owners (and their appointed agencies where applicable).
Present value-based sales proposals to potential sponsorship partners.
Draft legally binding sponsorship agreements.
Close sales using sponsorship agreements.
Responsible for setting up meetings post-show with each sponsor to discuss feedback on the sponsorship and to pitch the following year and where possible, engaging these sponsors to extend their spend.
Strong presentation skills with a creative approach to tailoring sponsorship packages and creating event content that adds to the show and visitor experience whilst meeting sponsors’ needs.
Successfully training and mentoring the sponsorship executive to achieve and exceed targets
Ensure satisfactory fulfilment of contractual obligations working in close partnership with Sales Partnership team.
Meet or exceed quarterly sales targets.
Maintain a contract database and advise any terms needing review or coming to a close
Lead ad-hoc business projects from time to time involving researching, liaising with external contacts, data collation and reporting findings.- Experience
- Highly experienced and successful track record in creating high-end bespoke sponsorship packages with an understanding of the culture of brands and marketing, PR and communications agencies at a senior level.
Strong at new business and subsequent sponsor retention and relationship building
Good understanding of marketing concepts and brand values.
Excellent sales / negotiation skills.
Good planning and organisational skills.
Creative solutions-based problem solver.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficient in the use of Salesforce.
Likely to have a university qualification.
